Day 3 – January 9, 2024 – Grand Cayman
When you have limited vacation time, as most of us do, you need to choose your experiences carefully. We are careful where our cruise dollars go, but for us, Disney cruises win every time. Cruisers consistently rate their experience on Castaway Cay as the highlight of their cruise. Other cruise lines have private islands, but none comes close to offering the Castway Cay experience.
The tender had plenty of seats for us to choose since it was fairly early in the day to return. Most of the Disney Magic passengers were still enjoying the island. The tender boat pulled off to take us back to the ship without waiting to fill up with passengers. Once back on the ship, we went through security on Deck 1.

We have sailed on a Disney Western Caribbean cruise a number of times in different staterooms. Every time it has been an amazing trip which we highly recommend. MSC Seascape’s shorter sailings, which will last for 3 to 4-nights, will sail to the Bahamas, calling on Ocean Cay and Nassau. The flagship of MSC Cruises’s World-class fleet, MSC World America, will spend its inaugural season based in Miami, Florida.

There were towels and sunscreen on the sun deck of the Concierge Lounge that we were permitted to use for free. After booking this cruise, I browsed through the Grand Cayman Port Adventures that Disney Cruise Line offered and noticed that most of them weren’t going to work for us.
They are the best waiters we have ever experienced at sea. They get to know what you need and so you will arrive on your second day to your favorite drinks. Sure, you can upgrade to one of the Disney adult restaurants if you want a treat – they are really very good for a reasonable upcharge. However, the included dining is going to be more than enough. The best thing is that the food is all included in your basic Disney cruise rate. The attention to detail in all of the Disney cruise restaurants is outstanding.
We love the Disney Fantasy, but always see the Disney Wonder as our “first love”. The Magic and the Wonder are smaller than the newer ships, but in some ways, we prefer this. It has the Aquaduck which is a huge draw for many people. This is one of the few Disney Western Caribbean cruises which does not visit Castaway Cay.
On January 19, 2022, guests were emailed to inform them this sailing would be switched from an an Eastern to a Western Caribbean cruise. The Disney Fantasy Western Caribbean Cruise is our first choice. Let us know if you are thinking of your first Disney Western Caribbean Cruise or are already a veteran of the Disney cruise experience. Every ship has an adults only area where the grown-ups can be child-free for a while.

This actually seems to be the norm these days on most cruise lines as the standard of food declines.
